B-to-B logistics system. co-Architect and Developer.
This is an international, medium sized, distributed, “Java based” contracted project. Its goal is to bring a group of manufactures from a non-computer based method of operation to a distributed e-commerce based mode of operation. It uses similar methodologies to projects described in the rest of the resume. The system streamlines purchasing, replenishment and accounting functions in Supplies and Packaging by utilizing e-communications power as provided by the World Wide Web. A quote from the customer in their marketing. “The system enables grocery retailers, manufacturers, distribution centers, or distribution fulfillment operations, to automate many of the routine activities that currently require valuable in-store and accounting staff at all levels in the supply chain. The system creates critical channels of real time communications between retailer and manufacturer as well as retailer and distribution to create efficiencies and reduce costs at all levels.
The project has heavy use of Web Applications built around JSP1.1, JDBC 2, Java beans and some EJB. Another major aspect of the system is its use of standalone Linux based terminal. This secure terminal developed with the Java professionals inc group is secure, self booting, black box system that is designed to be installed with only the use of a self booting, self installing, CD. The standalone stations communicate back to the main servers via a, JDBC tunneled over http, The system is dynamically configurable even remotely. The customer will be Appling this to other vertical markets with a minimal of recoding. The project is a part of the Java professionals inc group. This was a full life cycle contract!.
